Most people in the United States see dogs as buddies to share life with. This is true for many people, but not all. 4.5 million Americans are bitten by dogs each year, with the most frequent of the victims being small children. When a dog feels threatened or perceives a threat, it will use its natural instincts to defend itself however it sees fit.
